Proactively directing disaster prevention and response in the last months of 2022

The Provincial Commanding Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue has just sent a document to their members; Heads of Commanding Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts, Gia Nghia City on proactively directing disaster prevention and response in the last months of 2022.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, natural disasters are still complicated and unpredictable with from 8 to 10 storms and tropical depressions operating in the East Sea in the last months of 2022. Among of them, there are from 3 to 5 storms  may directly affect to the coast and mainland of our country, pounding in October and November 2022; Rainfall in the Central Highlands, including Dak Nong province, is higher than average for many years,so it leads to high risk of flooding, landslides and flash floods in the province.

In order to proactively prevent, respond, and quickly overcome natural disasters, minimize damage to people and property, and contribute to stabilizing people's lives and socio-economic development, the Head of the Division Provincial Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue request comrades Members of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue; Heads of Commanding Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts and Gia Nghia city pay more attention to disaster prevention, control and mitigation; organize the monitoring, grasp the situation, actively direct, urge and deploy the work according to the assigned tasks, geographical areas and domains, focusing on the following tasks:

Strictly implementing the Directive No. 09/CT-TTg dated on June 1st, 2022 of the Prime Minister on strengthening the work of natural disaster prevention and search and rescue and the direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 3684/UBND-NNTNMT dated on July 4th, 2022 on the implementation of Directive No. 09/CT-TTg dated on June 1st, 2022 of the Prime Minister in the province.

The members of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue performed their assigned tasks well and fully according to the Decision No. 1322/QD-BCH dated on August 9th, 2022 of the Head of the Commanding Committee, Disaster prevention and search and rescue in the province on consolidating and assigning tasks to their members in Dak Nong province in 2022. They closely monitoring the situation, proactively urging, direct the implementation of the work of prevention, combat and overcoming of consequences of natural disasters in the assigned state management domains and assigned areas in accordance with the provisions of the law on natural disaster prevention and control.

Heads of Commanding Committees for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of districts and Gia Nghia city shall organize a review of plans to respond to natural disasters, especially plans to ensure the safety of people's lives; monitoring and grasping the situation and developments of natural disasters in the area under their management, proactively directing and promptly and effectively deploying the prevention, combating and overcoming of consequences of natural disasters and rescue in all areas  situations, ensuring compliance with local realities, not being passive or surprised; take responsibility before the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (Head of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue) if major damage occurs due to delay or subjectivity in directing and implementing response to the disaster.

The members of the Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue are leaders of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, and the Director of the Hydrometeorological Station focus on directing and organizing to improve the quality of forecasting and warning natural disasters,  closely monitor, provide timely and highly accurate information on disaster assessment, forecast and warning to the members of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue, the concerned localities and people to know to proactively respond promptly and effectively.

The Chief of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue urges departments, boards, branches and localities in the province to carry out natural disaster prevention and control work in accordance with the characteristics and risks of occurrence and specific natural disasters in each area, urge members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue to perform their assigned tasks; closely monitor the situation of natural disasters, proactively direct the response to specific natural disaster situations, direct the 24-hour/24-hour duty to seriously return to the Standing Office of the Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and  Search and Rescue, promptly report to the Head of the Provincial Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue for direction and handling of matters beyond their authority.
