Signed cooperation agreement to develop UNESCO Global Geopark

Within the framework of the 20th International Symposium on Vulcanospeleology (ISV 20), in the evening of November 22nd, in Gia Nghia city, Dak Nong province, the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Management Board of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark and the Management Board of UNESCO Mudeungsan Global Geopark - Korea.

Signing the Cooperation Agreement

At the signing ceremony, the Management Board of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark and UNESCO Mudeungsan Global Geopark - Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the spirit of cooperation and respect between the parties. The objective of this Memorandum of Understanding is international cooperation, exchange of experiences between two sides based on the spirit of friendship and cooperation, respecting the legal independence and equal status of each Geopark.

Within this agreement framework, both two sides will participate in cooperative activities: exchange and exchange ideas and experiences on heritage protection, communication on geosciences and local tourism development. Cooperation on culture and tourism, promoting the sustainable development of both geoparks.  Exchange ideas and information online through the internet and other tools to share experiences on development and promotion of Geoparks. Plan to organize a joint educational program, such as an exchange program of learning experiences between students of each Geopark's schools. Planning the construction, development of websites or publications of the partner Geopark, promoting joint research activities for the development of the Geopark. This Memorandum of Understanding has a term of cooperation of five years.

After the signing ceremony, the People's Committee of Dak Nong province held a reception party and introduced the cultural identity of the indigenous peoples of Dak Nong.
