110 years ago, on the land of the South Central Highlands, an event with a shocking nature and stature took place in Indochina, with passionate love for the homeland and country, hatred of the French invaders, causing the scene "The country is lost, the house is destroyed", the leader N'Trang Long stood up to lead the M'Nong and S'Tieng people to stand up against the French. During nearly 25 years of insurrection (1912 - 1936), regardless of difficult and dangerous combat situations, N'Trang Long and the insurgent army always upheld their will, didn't care about sacrifices and hardships, and did not surrender to compromise with the enemy. The more aggressive and brutal the enemy, the more determined and intense his fight and the insurgent army will be. It was N'Trang Long's brave and heroic fighting spirit that was the leading factor that made the glorious victories of the anti-French movement on the M'Nong plateau.

With great contributions, the N'Trang Long uprising movement has had a worthy position in the history of the Indochinese peoples in general and the history of Vietnam in particular. The hero N'Trang Long with the resounding Bu Nor - Bu Mera victory in July 1914 made the uprising movement develop, liberated a large highland from the colonial yoke, and encouraged the fighting spirit. non-stop fighting for patriotic compatriots.

Recognizing and appreciating the historical stature of the N'Trang Long Uprising Movement, on December 1, 1964, our Party and State solemnly held the 50th anniversary of the victory over Bu Nor - Bu Mera in Hanoi capital, in order to promote the indomitable tradition of the Central Highlands ethnic groups, strongly encourage the resistance war against the US to save the country. Promoting those spiritual values, on July 27, 2012, for the first time, Dak Nong province held the 100th anniversary of the N'Trang Long uprising movement, strongly reviving the traditional Heroic N'Trang.

In 2022, the 110th anniversary of the N'Trang Long uprising broke out. The history has gone back more than a century, the more we look back at the uprising movement, the more clearly we see the stature, meaning and value of the movement and the great contribution of leader N'Trang Long and his compatriots, the ethnic groups in the Central Highlands. The meaning of the movement has gone beyond Dak Nong, Vietnam, but also has international stature, affecting the struggle of the people of Indochina. The movement has sown in the minds of the Central Highlands people the sense of standing up to protect the homeland and the country, so that when there is light to illuminate the way of the Communist Party, it will become a self-conscious revolutionary movement, leading the people in the Central Highlands. The people of the Central Highlands volunteered to participate in the war against the American invading imperialists and their henchmen, completing the work of completely liberating the South and reunifying the country. After April 30, 1975, was the struggle to defeat the FULRO reactionary's plot to divide the great national unity bloc; unite to build a rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.

Remembering the great merits of N'Trang Long and reminding about the glorious victories against the French of the Central Highlands people, in order to educate the patriotic tradition, the principle of "drinking water, remember the source" for all classes of people. and future generations, Dak Nong province has built the monument N'Trang Long.

The construction of Hero N'Trang Long monument started construction in 2015, at Dak Nur hill, Nghia Duc ward, Gia Nghia city, this is a very beautiful location with a height of about 650m above sea level, covering the whole city of Chiayi. The monument's campus is nearly 6 hectares wide, the overall height of the monument is 18.5m; width is 27m; volume of finished relief stone is 456.30 tons. The work is highly appreciated by experts for its artistic, technical, and artistic qualities and has been rated A - excellent by the Arts Council.
