Provincial People's Committee has just issued a plan on developing specialty coffee in Đắk Nông province until 2030
To develop Đắk Nông province's specialty coffee in line with the process of international economic integration, meeting the increasing demands of domestic and export markets; at the same time, improving added value and competitiveness of Đắk Nông coffee products on domestic and international markets.
Accordingly, in order for the implementation plan to be effective, the plan has set out specific goals to strive for each stage as follows:
* Period 2022-2025
- Develop an orientation map of specialty coffee growing/producing areas in the province to 2030 on the basis of investigation, survey and assessment of economic, social, soil, climate and technical conditions cultivation and processing capacity (as a basis for building geographical indications).
- Develop geographical indications, coffee brands of the province on the basis of which geographical indications and specialty coffee brands can be displayed.
- 100% of the owners of the establishments growing areas with the orientation of producing specialty coffee are trained and guided in the process of producing, harvesting, preserving and processing specialty coffee.
- Inspecting and setting up a number of specialty coffee growing/producing areas on the basis of focusing on supporting, guiding and promoting organizations/individuals that currently have specialty coffee growing/producing areas or high quality one. Striving to 2025, the whole province will develop about 1,000 hectares of specialty coffee production with a selective green coffee quantity to meet the processing of specialty coffee products reaching 530 tons or more - an average of 530 kg/ ha.
- The specialty coffee production areas are established with at least one chain of specialty coffee production associated with stable product consumption with the value of specialty coffee products bringing an increase of at least equal to 1.5 times higher than the value of conventionally produced coffee products of the same type.
* Period 2026 - 2030
- Continue to expand and increase the area and quantity of specialty coffee in the province. Striving to 2030, the province's specialty coffee production area is expected to reach about 2,000 hectares and the quantity will reach 1,500 tons or more - an average of about 750 kg/ha, doubling the area in 2025 and nearly 2.83 times increase in output.
- 100% of specialty coffee production areas are linked with at least 01 enterprise/cooperative that consumes stable products with the value of specialty coffee products bringing an increase of at least 1.8 times the value of coffee products of the same type produced in the conventional tradition.
- 100% of specialty coffee growing/producing areas are guided, inspected, and monitored for input and output quality of specialty coffee products.
- 100% of specialty coffee products produced in the province of organizations/individuals that meet the standards are supported to grant the right to use the geographical indication of Đắk Nông specialty coffee and promote trade of specialty coffee brands.
