On the evening of Nov 24, at the floating Island, Gia Nghia city, Dak Nong Province, The 2^nd Vietnam Weaving Culture Festival in 2020 officially organized by Dak Nong Provincial people's committee.

Attending the opening ceremony, on the side of ministries, branches and world organizations, there were Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong: Mr Michael Croft, Chief Presentative of The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Vietnam, Mr Guy Martini, General Secrectary of Global Geopark Council…

On the side of Dak Nong Province, there were comrades: Le Dien, Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Countcil, Ngo Thanh Danh, Secretary of The Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Luu Van Trung, Standing Deputy Secretary of The Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Party committee, Nguyen Dinh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, The provincial Fatherland Front Committee, former Provincial Leaders Through Periods, Donors and a large number of people in the area.

Speaking at the opening, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung affirmed: Weaving is the "Cultural heritage" that artisans and fellow citizens have created, diverse and unique, contain many beliefs, living concepts, aesthetic thinking have created the typical cultural characteristics of each ethnic group. Therefore, we need to have urgent solutions to preserve and promote the cultural values of Weaving in an effective and practical way to be handed down and step by step create cultural symbols of the community. The preservation and development of Weaving is not only an economic opportunity but also our mission to an important and sacred heritage part that has been passed down from generation to generation of fellow citizens and Vietnam Ethnic.

Mr Nguyen Dinh Trung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party committee, Chairman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee delivered the opening speech at the 2^nd Vietnam Weaving Culture Festival 2020. 

The 2nd Vietnam Weaving Culture Festival in 2020 is a tribute to the unique values and strong and enduring vitality of the Vietnamese Handicraft cultural space, at the same time, to propagate to raise public awareness and synchronously deploy action programs to develop UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark to expand and develop community based tourism models associated with the geological and cultural heritage".

The 2nd Vietnam Weaving Culture Festival with the participation of 15 provinces and cities nationwide: Cao Bang, Tuyen Quang, Yen Bai, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Kon Tum, Dak Lak, Lam Dong, Ninh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Bac Lieu, An Giang, Tien Giang, Dak Nong, with more than 500 artisans, athletes, and actors, who are from the ethnic minorities.

Many special performances at the opening night of the 2^nd Vietnam Weaving Cultural Festival

With the theme "The Land of Tones", the opening Ceremony reappeared the process of formation, development and the meaning of Weaving of ethnic life, including 2 chapters: "Weaving Road", "Integration and development". Along with re-contemplating the journey of Vietnamese Weaving, people and visitors also have the opportunity to enjoy the voices of famous singers and Dak Nong ethnic singers and performers.

Provincial leaders received the certificate of UNESCO Global Geopark in Dak Nong

At the opening ceremony, representatives of UNSECO awarded the certificate of title "UNESCO Global Geopark Dak Nong"

On this occasion, Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the process of preparing dossiers to submit to UNSECO for recognition of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark.
